Cinderella teaches the importance of kindness and forgiveness in this charming classic made more memorable by the inclusion of eccentric illustrations. View 2 comments. Cinderella, Charles Perrault Once there was a gentleman who married, for his second wife, the proudest and most haughty woman that was ever seen. She had, by a former husband, two daughters of her own, who were, indeed, exactly like her in all things.
He had likewise, by another wife, a young daughter, but of unparalleled goodness and sweetness of temper, which she took from her mother, who was the best creature in the world. So obsessed with this artwork. I need to get my hands on the others she's done! While you yourself will appear as humble as you did before".
Cinderella , a child unnoticed and unvalued by peers and parent-figures, discharges the household chores and is subjected to humiliating treatment of the hands of her stepmother and stepsisters, she is presented as a young woman, willing to humble herself before her domineering stepsisters. It is she who has to wash the dishes, " Remember, If you stay one instant after the last stroke of midnight, your carriage will become a pumpkin.. It is she who has to wash the dishes, scrape the stairs, who cleans the rooms of the mistress and her daughters, but she endured everything with patience , she usually finds in nature the help she needs, a fish , a calf, or a tree always comes to her rescue.
Her salvation appears in the form of a fairy godmother who transforms her into a beautiful princess and whisks her away to the ball in the pumpkin coach, she eventually finds the love and recognition she has been deprived of, Yet rather than adopt a malevolence towards her step-sister, the opposite has tended to be the case.. Her kindness and sweet temper are unrivaled, her true beauty is concealed by soot, dust, and cinders, She has a girlish charm that bodes well for her move from rags to riches, she is able to rise out of cinders and ashes to achieve a position of wealth and stature!!
The whole picture transports us into a magical world of deeply felt emotion rolled together into a densely packed concoction of wander. I have once read that if we want to understand the foundation on which a person's life is built, ask him what his favorite book was as a child, therefore we can cautiously gain insight into someone's personality by analyzing the book he loved as a child Since books we love reveal part of ourselves, our hopes, dream , vulnerabilities and insecurities. This book is a piece of me. As a young girl, I loved Cinderella, I demanded it over and over , more than any other book.
Book Description Brighter Child. At every house, women claimed the glass shoe was theirs. Everybody turned to look as the most beautiful girl walked through the door. La Bella y la Bestia. Algaida
An important journey for children to understand that there is conflict and hardship that must be overcome and there will be struggles begging to be solved. View all 4 comments. I would give this one 3.
The artwork was still stunning but some of it didn't blow me away in the same way it did with her other works. This is Charles Perrault's version of Cinderella. I think this book would've worked so much better with the Grimm version of the fairytale for Camilla's style of artwork. I would have loved to have seen what Camilla would have done with something much darker.
Overall, this I would give this one 3. Overall, this still breathes new life into a beloved fairytale. I'm disgusted at the father. He's only but a huge disappointment. I love this editions with all my heart. The art is beautifully creepy, almost Tim Burton-sequel but more feminine I would say. View 1 comment.
May 20, Randie D. Camp, M. Griffith and Charles H. They take her belongings and leave her with nothing but the cinders near the chimney.
The King holds a ball and while she is forbidden to go, Cinderella must help her stepsister get ready for the grand event. Cinderella is incredibly kind to her stepsisters despite their mocking and teasing. Once, the stepsisters have left for the ball, Cinderella begins to cry but soon after her fairy godmother appears and turns ordinary objects and creatures into a grand coach and horses and provides her with a beautiful gown, so that she may go to the ball.
Cinderella is the most beautiful lady at the ball and wins the attention of the Prince but she must rush off before midnight. Similar events take place on the second night of the ball, only Cinderella leaves behind one glass slipper. The Prince sets out to find the lady whose feet fit into this elegant glass slipper. The two stepsisters try and fail and everyone is quite shocked when Cinderella fits the slipper. She marries the Prince and forgives her stepsisters for their unkind behavior. Reaction: Perrault focuses heavily on the fashion and external beauty in his version.
Cinderella seems to overcome her had life because she is made beautiful not necessarily from her good nature. Because the story itself was probably worth a 1.
So we'll go for 3 stars. This was not my favourite Cinderella story, I prefere the version by the brothers Grimm much more. It's a lot more darker and in my opinion, also more complex and interesting than this story. This story itself just..
Okay, I get the themes, I mean I have heard and watched this story a trillion times. But this was just not the version that I liked the most. However, Camille Rose Garcia is one of my favourite artists and the illustrations are absolutely stunning in this book! They give the story a whole different aspect and they are truly amazing. So I would say, it's worth reading or owning for the pitcures but not for the story. Love love love this.
Beautiful artwork and illustrations. Camille Rose Garcia did it again! The colours were amazing throughout the entire book. Again, I'll probably give 5 stars to almost anything that has Camille Rose Garcia's name on it. This is another stunning edition! Loved the illustrations so much! Such a beautiful book.
